Overview

Admirals, which most traders still know as Admiral Markets, is a forex and CFD broker that grew up in Estonia and has been regulated for more than 25 years. It's built around MetaTrader, so it suits traders who already live in MT4 or MT5 and want a mainstream regulator behind them. UK clients are with the FCA-regulated entity, EU clients are served from Cyprus under CySEC, and there are entities under ASIC in Australia, the Seychelles FSA and Kenya's CMA. Belgian residents can't sign up.

Accounts and costs

The trading accounts come in two flavours on each platform. Trade.MT5 and Trade.MT4 bake costs into the spread, from around 0.5 pips, with a small commission on stock and ETF CFDs. Zero.MT5 and Zero.MT4 give you spreads from 0.0 pips and charge a commission instead. All four need €100 to start trading. Invest.MT5 is the odd one out: it's for buying real stocks and ETFs, and it opens with just €1. Retail leverage is capped at 1:30, with up to 1:500 for professional clients. Bear in mind 73% of retail CFD accounts lose money here, and a €10 monthly inactivity fee kicks in after two years of no trading.

Platforms and markets

You get MT4, MT5 and the in-house Admiral Markets platform and app, plus the free Supreme Edition add-on for MetaTrader. Markets include around 80 currency pairs, metals, energies, agricultural and index CFDs, over 3,350 stock CFDs, ETF and bond CFDs. Trade.MT5 has a swap-free Islamic version, and there's a demo account.

Money in and out

Funding options include bank transfer, cards, PayPal, Skrill and Neteller, depending on where you live. You get one free withdrawal each month, and further ones in the same month carry a fee. Client money is kept in segregated accounts.

What traders say

Scores from the sites traders use, and our summary of what they're saying, checked 6 October 2026.

Admirals (formerly Admiral Markets) has a broadly positive but split reputation. It holds 4.1 on Trustpilot from about 2,200 reviews, and Trustpilot's own summary calls payment experiences mixed, with many fast withdrawals reported alongside some serious complaints. Forex Peace Army and Myfxbook both have review pages with mixed write-ups, but no score shows in our evidence.

What traders like

  • Deposits and withdrawals that work. Many Trustpilot reviewers say funding and cashing out were easy and quick.

  • MetaTrader set-up. Reviewers on Myfxbook and Forex Peace Army praise execution speed, the MetaTrader Supreme Edition add-on and smooth running of Expert Advisors on MT5.

  • Order handling. One Forex Peace Army reviewer, quoted by TopBrokers, says limit orders are filled as limits, not as market orders.

  • Staying power. Some Reddit users point to Admirals coming through the 2015 Swiss franc shock when other brokers failed.

Common complaints

  • Profits withheld after big wins. Several Forex Peace Army threads say withdrawals were refused on technical grounds and accounts terminated or profits removed after a large winning trade, with Admirals citing breaches of its terms. At least one involved the Seychelles entity.

  • Disputes over who is a client. Some Trustpilot reviewers say Admirals replied that it could not identify them as clients. One says the Financial Ombudsman later ordered deposits refunded.

  • Withdrawal delays. Review sites such as TraderFactor say most withdrawal complaints they found are first-withdrawal delays over identity checks, not refusals.

  • Costs and platform design. Some find share CFD pricing high and parts of the platform dated.

Recently

No dated reviews from the last 90 days in our evidence. CompareForexBrokers recorded the Trustpilot score at 4.1 in August 2026.
