Overview
Dorman Trading is a family-run futures commission merchant in Chicago that's been around since 1956, when it started out serving floor traders at the Chicago Board of Trade. It's registered with the CFTC and is an NFA member, and it's a full clearing member of CME Group (CME, CBOT, NYMEX and COMEX) and ICE Futures US. It suits futures traders who want a proper clearing firm behind them and a wide choice of platforms, and who don't mind an old-school account process. Many clients come through introducing brokers, and Dorman also clears for retail brokers such as Tradier.
Accounts and costs
You can open individual, joint, corporate, partnership, LLC and trust accounts, either directly or through an introducing broker. Dorman doesn't publish a standard commission schedule; pricing depends on volume, platform and who introduced you, and rates as low as $0.59 per side have been advertised through brokers. Exchange and platform fees come on top. Reviewers quote different minimum deposits, so ask before you apply.
Platforms and markets
Dorman offers almost 40 platforms, including its own Dorman Direct, TradingView, CQG, ATAS and Barchart Trader, with others such as NinjaTrader and Sierra Chart mentioned by reviewers. It also offers server hosting in the CME Group data centre for latency-sensitive systems. Markets are futures and options on futures across CME Group, ICE US and Europe, Eurex, Cboe Futures, MGEX, Euronext and Coinbase Derivatives.
Money in and out
Funding is old-fashioned. Bank wires in USD, EUR or AUD clear straight away, and personal or certified checks work once they clear. You can also move cash over from another brokerage. Dorman doesn't take cards, PayPal or ACH credits, and the money has to come from an account in your name.

What traders say
Scores from the sites traders use, and our summary of what they're saying, checked 6 October 2026.
There is very little trader feedback on Dorman Trading, a long-running Chicago futures clearing firm. Its Trustpilot page has a single review and shows a 3.2 TrustScore, which says little on its own. The rest comes from a few dozen reviews spread across TradingView, Top Rated Firms, Investimonials and a couple of Reddit threads. Those lean positive, with funding the main complaint.
What traders like
Personal service. Several long-term clients name individual brokers they have worked with for years and say emails and calls get quick answers.
Low costs. Reviewers often mention low commissions and margins, and one says professional traders use Dorman for its low fees.
Track record. Some pick Dorman because it is an old, family-run firm that clears its own trades.
Platform choice. TradingView users like on-chart order editing and trailing stops, and Reddit users mention NinjaTrader, Rithmic and Sierra Chart connections.
Common complaints
Old-fashioned funding. The most repeated complaint is deposits and withdrawals by wire only, with no ACH, and reviewers calling the process slow and out of date. One Reddit user says withdrawals were easy, and another reviewer says wires took only a day.
Slow account opening. A few reviewers say opening an account took a long time and needed extra paperwork, such as bank statements.
Statements and reporting. One TradingView reviewer finds statements hard to read and the TradingView panel too basic.
Fees and fills. A small number of reviewers complain of slippage and high commissions, which runs against the more common praise for low costs.
