Overview
LMAX Global is the brokerage arm of LMAX Group, the London firm behind the LMAX Exchange FX venue. It's not a typical retail broker. It's built for professional traders, money managers, prop firms and other brokers who want exchange-style execution: your orders hit the LMAX Exchange central limit order book, with no last look rejections. The UK entity is regulated by the FCA, the EU one by CySEC, and there are further entities under the FSC in Mauritius and in New Zealand.
Accounts and costs
There's one main account, and the bar to get in is high: the minimum initial deposit is $10,000. Pricing is variable spreads, typically around 0.1 pips on EUR/USD, plus a commission that drops as your volume rises. Reviewers put it at roughly $2.5 to $4.5 per $100,000 traded, and some also report a $300 monthly platform fee. Retail leverage is capped at 1:30. The website itself is aimed at professional clients, and LMAX warns that losses can exceed your deposit.
Platforms and markets
You can trade on LMAX's own web platform and mobile app, on MT4 or MT5, or plug in over FIX and API connections. The range is narrow at around 100 instruments: rolling spot FX, metals, equity indices, commodities and crypto CFDs, plus weekend FX. A demo account is available.
Money in and out
Depending on the entity, you can fund by bank transfer, debit or credit card, Skrill and Neteller, and some entities take certain crypto coins. Accounts come in currencies such as USD, EUR, GBP and AUD. Client money at the UK entity is held in segregated trust accounts under FCA rules, and reviewers say LMAX doesn't charge for deposits or withdrawals.

What traders say
Scores from the sites traders use, and our summary of what they're saying, checked 6 October 2026.
LMAX Global has very little public review evidence, which fits a broker aimed mainly at professional and institutional clients with a $10,000 minimum. Its Trustpilot page (listed as LMAX Exchange on lmax.com) shows 2.2 from only 18 reviews, as BrokersView reported in June 2026. Forex Peace Army and Myfxbook have review pages with a mix of strong praise and strong complaints, but no score in our evidence. Treat the picture as thin.
What traders like
Execution and pricing. Reviewers on Trustpilot, Forex Peace Army and Myfxbook praise fast fills, deep liquidity and tight spreads, and some say the plain platform is fine because execution is what matters.
Long-term reliability. A few long-standing clients on Forex Peace Army say they have traded with LMAX for years without problems and found withdrawals quick.
Common complaints
Withdrawals stalled by compliance checks. The most serious reviews on Trustpilot and Forex Peace Army say withdrawals were held while LMAX questioned the source or ownership of funds. One reviewer, a broker using LMAX as its liquidity provider, says LMAX never replied about releasing funds.
Swap costs. Several reviewers, including some who are otherwise happy, say overnight swap charges are far higher than at other brokers.
Leverage expectations. One Forex Peace Army reviewer says they were offered 1:30 leverage after expecting the higher figure seen in third-party marketing.
Execution doubts. A few older Myfxbook reviews say spreads widened sharply around news.
