Overview

Markets.com is a CFD broker that started in 2009 and is part of the Finalto group, with its main office in Limassol, Cyprus. It suits traders who want a broad CFD menu, decent research tools and a choice of platforms, and who don't mind dealing with a market maker. EU clients sign up with Safecap Investments Limited, regulated by CySEC, UK clients go through a Finalto company authorised by the FCA, and South Africans are covered by the FSCA. There's also an offshore entity registered in St Vincent and the Grenadines for other countries, which comes with lighter protection.

Accounts and costs

There's essentially one live CFD account. Most sources put the minimum deposit at $100, though some quote $200. Pricing is commission free on forex, indices and commodities, with spreads from around 0.6 pips, while stock CFDs carry a small commission on top of the spread. Retail leverage is capped at 1:30 in the EU, UK and Australia, with higher limits for professional clients and at the offshore entity. Negative balance protection is standard and client money is kept in segregated accounts. About 72% of retail CFD accounts lose money here.

Platforms and markets

You can trade on the Markets.com web platform and app, add an MT4 or MT5 account from your portal, or connect through TradingView. UK clients can spread bet as well. The list covers forex, shares, indices, commodities, ETFs, bonds and crypto CFDs, plus themed share baskets. A demo account is free.

Money in and out

Deposits work by card, bank wire, PayPal, Skrill and Neteller. Markets.com doesn't charge for deposits or withdrawals, but money goes back to the method you paid in with. E-wallets are usually quickest, while cards and wires can take several business days.

What traders say

Scores from the sites traders use, and our summary of what they're saying, checked 6 October 2026.

Markets.com has a smaller and more divided review base than the big CFD brands. It holds 4.0 on Trustpilot from about 1,260 reviews, while Sitejabber shows 1.4 from only 22. Forex Peace Army and Myfxbook have pages with a handful of mostly older write-ups. Positive reviews talk about the platform and support; negative ones are mostly about money moving in and out.

What traders like

  • Helpful support staff. Many Trustpilot reviews thank named support agents and say small problems were fixed quickly.

  • Market range and tools. Reviewers mention the wide choice of CFDs, the research tools and being able to trade through TradingView.

  • Long-time users without issues. A few Forex Peace Army reviewers say they traded for years without serious problems, though some found the older platform clunky.

Common complaints

  • Deposits not credited. Several recent Trustpilot reviewers, many in India, say money left their bank but never showed up in the account, and that support said it had not been received.

  • Withdrawals rejected or slow. Reviewers on Forex Peace Army, Sitejabber and third-party sites describe withdrawals refused after profits, delays, or being told to use a different method from the one they deposited with. Markets.com replies that requests are handled within its standard three business days.

  • Unresponsive support once things go wrong. Some say emails and calls went unanswered after funding.

  • Margin and overnight fees. A few reviewers say they could not add funds near a margin call, and others mention high overnight charges.

Several Sitejabber reviews promote fund recovery services, so that page is a weak signal.

Recently

  • September to October 2026: new Trustpilot reviews mix quick support fixes with complaints about an Indian rupee deposit from late September that was not credited and unpaid introducing-broker commissions. Markets.com replied asking for account details.

  • July 2026: BrokerChooser's summary of user reviews named deposits and withdrawals as the biggest complaint by far.
