Overview
NinjaTrader is a US futures broker that grew out of one of the best-known futures charting platforms, around since 2001. It suits active day traders who want cheap micro contracts, low day margins and serious charting in one place. Accounts clear through NinjaTrader Clearing, LLC, a CFTC-registered futures commission merchant and NFA member, and client money sits in segregated accounts as US futures rules require.
Accounts and costs
There's no minimum deposit, and any funded balance unlocks your plan. You pick one of three pricing plans. The Free plan has no monthly fee and charges $0.39 per side on Micro contracts and $1.29 on Standard ones. The Monthly plan costs $99 and cuts that to $0.29 and $0.99. The Lifetime plan is a one-off $1,499 and drops commissions to $0.09 and $0.59. Exchange, clearing and NFA fees go on top. Intraday margins start at $50 for Micros and $500 for the E-mini S&P 500, though they can jump to four times that before big news. Watch the $35 monthly fee if you're on the Free plan, log in and don't trade.
Platforms and markets
You get NinjaTrader Desktop, Web and Mobile, with free simulated trading, Market Replay and backtesting. You can also trade from TradingView charts or route through Rithmic for an extra fee. The menu is over 100 futures across CME, COMEX, NYMEX, CBOT and Eurex: equity indices, energy, metals, treasuries, crypto, agriculture and single-stock futures. There are individual, joint, business and futures-only IRA accounts, but no stocks or options on futures through NinjaTrader's own brokerage.
Money in and out
You can deposit by ACH, debit card, digital wallet, wire or check. ACH, debit card and incoming wire deposits are free, with a $5 minimum on ACH and card. Standard withdrawals are free.

What traders say
Scores from the sites traders use, and our summary of what they're saying, checked 6 October 2026.
NinjaTrader's reviews are mixed, with strong praise for the platform and support, and a growing number of complaints about reliability and moving money. It holds 3.9 on Trustpilot from about 1,200 reviews. Finder says that is down from a stronger showing in 2024. TradingView, Forex Peace Army and Myfxbook have pages but no score in what we collected, and Reddit, including r/ninjatrader, is where most of the longer discussion happens.
What traders like
The platform. Many reviewers praise the charting, the automation through NinjaScript, and market replay for practice.
Support. Trustpilot reviewers often name support agents who walked them through problems over screen share, and say help is quick to arrive.
Low cost to start. Reddit futures traders point to low day-trading margins and cheap commissions.
TradingView link. Some TradingView reviewers say connecting a NinjaTrader account takes no setup.
Common complaints
Withdrawal holds. The most common money complaint. Several Reddit users describe being unable to withdraw recently deposited funds for weeks, including a 60-day hold on wire deposits, and some say withdrawals were declined.
Stability. TradingView and Trustpilot reviewers mention lag, outages and problems at busy times, and some find stop-loss and take-profit handling awkward.
Licence terms. A few lifetime licence holders on Trustpilot say the licence feels less permanent than they expected.
Account opening. A widely shared Reddit post describes a painful brokerage application, though replies in the same thread report smooth sign-ups.
