Overview
Scalable Capital is a Munich neobroker that started out as a robo-adviser and now runs as a full bank, Scalable Capital Bank GmbH, supervised by BaFin and the Bundesbank. It suits European investors, especially in the eurozone, who want to buy ETFs on a savings plan and hold them for years at very low cost. It isn't built for active leveraged trading, and it pulled out of the UK in 2021.
Accounts and costs
There are two broker plans. FREE Broker has no monthly fee, charges EUR 0.99 per trade on the European Investor Exchange, and makes PRIME ETF buys of EUR 250 or more free. PRIME+ costs EUR 4.99 a month and makes trades of EUR 250 or more free on that venue, along with derivatives from EUR 250, plus interest on cash. Trades routed to Xetra cost extra on both plans. Savings plans are free from EUR 1, and crypto carries a spread surcharge of around 0.69%. There's no custody or inactivity fee. If you'd rather not pick investments yourself, Scalable Wealth manages an ETF portfolio for you.
Platforms and markets
Everything happens in Scalable's own app and web platform. You get over 8,000 stocks, a big ETF range, bonds, crypto and more than 370,000 warrants and turbos. There's no forex, no CFDs and no futures, and US-listed ETFs without a European KID are off limits, like at most EU brokers. There's no demo account either.
Money in and out
You fund by SEPA bank transfer from your own account, and withdrawals back to it are free. Instant deposits get you trading within seconds but cost 0.99% on FREE or 0.69% on PRIME+, so a normal transfer is the cheaper choice.

What traders say
Scores from the sites traders use, and our summary of what they're saying, checked 6 October 2026.
Scalable Capital rates well with long-term ETF investors and draws steady complaints about support and moving money. It holds a 4-star rating on Trustpilot from about 6,700 reviews, while the much smaller Reviews.io page shows 1.2 from 133. Finanzfluss has about 420 German-language reviews, and Reddit discussion is spread across r/ScalableCapital, r/Finanzen and r/eupersonalfinance.
What traders like
Simple ETF investing. Many Trustpilot and Trusteroo reviewers say the app is clear and easy for savings plans.
Low cost. Reddit users often pick it for cheap trades and free ETF savings plans.
German tax handling. Several r/eupersonalfinance posters say it handles German tax for you, which foreign brokers do not.
Interest on cash. Some keep emergency savings there for the interest rate.
Stability. A few Reddit users say it stays up when rival neobrokers have outages.
Common complaints
Support. The most frequent complaint. Trustpilot reviewers say support is hard to reach or feels automated, and some doubt that the Trustpilot replies are written by a person. Scalable says they are.
Withdrawals. Several Reddit and Trustpilot users describe deposits that could be invested but not withdrawn for weeks, or a withdrawal stuck for a week.
Old Baader Bank accounts. Reddit posters say the earlier setup with Baader Bank caused problems, and some say transfers improved after the move away from it.
Order types and app glitches. A few say they cannot set a stop loss and a target together, or that the app or login sometimes fails.
