Overview
StoneX is a big, Nasdaq-listed financial group headquartered in New York, and one of the largest non-bank futures commission merchants in the world. For retail traders it's mainly a futures broker, with a US brokerage arm called StoneX One and a UK CFD and spread betting business called StoneX Trading. It suits futures traders who want a heavyweight clearing firm behind them. Its US brokerage is a FINRA member, and group companies are licensed by the FCA, CySEC, ASIC, MAS and Hong Kong's SFC, among others.
Accounts and costs
StoneX Futures has no minimum deposit, just the standard exchange margin. Commissions are quoted per client, with rates as low as $0.50 per side, and exchange, clearing and data fees are shown before you trade. StoneX One, the US brokerage account, needs $2,000 and charges $0 commission on online stock, ETF, option and mutual fund trades. In the UK, StoneX Trading offers a CFD account and a spread bet account, both with no minimum and spread-only pricing, with FX from 0.5 points. There's a demo account for the UK side.

What traders say
Scores from the sites traders use, and our summary of what they're saying, checked 6 October 2026.
There is little trader review evidence for StoneX. Its main Trustpilot page for stonex.com has no reviews. The UK retail arm, StoneX Trading, has its own Trustpilot page, but the bundle shows no score for it. Forex Peace Army's StoneX page has no reviews. The City Index page there, the old name of StoneX Trading, shows 1.43 from only 13 reviews. Most first-hand comments come from the StoneX futures reviews on TradingView, and they are mixed.
What traders like
Helpful support in some cases. Several TradingView reviewers say support explained platform differences and fixed their problem. Others leave short five-star notes.
Low advertised costs. Reviewers mention zero commission on US stocks and options and low per-side futures rates.
A large, established group. Reddit users describe StoneX as an old, listed financial company, and some sites note its strong regulation.
Common complaints
Support on technical issues. Some TradingView reviewers say they got no help with platform problems, and one planned to withdraw because of it.
Fees higher than expected. One TradingView reviewer says micro options contracts cost far more per contract than the advertised rate.
The older futures platform. A Reddit user calls service on the Gain Futures platform poor and advises staying away.
Withdrawals and access. WikiFX's summary of user reports mentions withdrawal problems and trouble logging in. Many of these appear to involve impostor sites using the StoneX name, which Forex Peace Army and Reddit threads warn about.
Recently
No dated trader reviews from the last 90 days show up in the evidence. WikiFX's August 2026 summary repeats the withdrawal and access complaints above.
