## Overview

ThinkCapital is the prop trading brand of ThinkMarkets, a broker regulated by the FCA, ASIC and CySEC, and it launched in 2024. You trade forex, indices, commodities and crypto on ThinkTrader, which connects to TradingView. It suits traders who want a broker-backed firm and a choice of how many phases to sit through.

### How the evaluation works

- **Lightning (1-step):** a 10% target, a 3% daily loss limit and a 6% maximum loss that trails your equity until it locks at the starting balance. From $59 for $5K to $499 for $100K.
- **Dual Step Intraday:** 9% then 5%, a 4% daily limit on equity and a 7% static maximum loss (8% once funded). Same prices as Lightning.
- **Dual Step Swing:** the same two-phase idea with a balance-based daily limit and news and weekend holding allowed, priced higher at $82 to $698.
- **Nexus (3-step):** 7%, 6% and 5%, a 4% daily limit and an 8% maximum loss fixed to the starting balance. The cheapest route, from $39 for $5K.
- **Bolt (instant):** no evaluation, a 3% daily limit and a 6% trailing maximum loss. From $39 for $2.5K to $899 for $100K.

The challenges need at least 3 trading days.

### Rules worth knowing

- On funded accounts you can't trade from 2 minutes before to 2 minutes after high-impact news unless you bought the news add-on. Dual Step Swing allows news by default.
- Weekend holding isn't allowed on Dual Step Intraday or Bolt unless you pay for it.
- The daily limit on Dual Step Intraday is reset from your 5 PM New York equity, so floating losses at the close lower the next day's floor.
- Copy trading isn't allowed. EAs are allowed on Lightning and Nexus.

### Getting paid

The standard split is 80%, with 90% as an add-on. Payouts run every 14 days, or every 7 days with an add-on, and Bolt can add on-demand payouts. Requests are processed within 3 business days, in crypto (USDT or USDC), through Rise, or straight into a ThinkMarkets live account where ThinkMarkets accepts clients.

## Good

- Backed by the broker ThinkMarkets
- Three-step Nexus starts at $39
- Trade from TradingView
- Payouts can go to a ThinkMarkets live account

## Watch for

- No news or weekend holding on most programs without add-ons
- Lightning and Bolt use a trailing max loss
- 90% split costs extra

- Trustpilot: no score (https://www.trustpilot.com/review/thinkcapital.com)
- Prop Firm Match: 4.2 / 5 from 57 reviews (https://propfirmmatch.com/prop-firms/thinkcapital/reviews)
- Forex Peace Army: no score (https://www.forexpeacearmy.com/forex-reviews/22647/thinkcapital-review)
- Reddit: no score (https://www.reddit.com/r/Forex/comments/1gc4gn0/thinkcapital_review/)

ThinkCapital, the prop arm of the broker ThinkMarkets, gets a mixed reception. On Prop Firm Match it holds 4.2 from about 60 reviews. Its Trustpilot page, which had about 600 reviews and a score around 3.9 to 4.2 earlier in 2026, now carries a notice that Trustpilot removed fake reviews, and one review site reported in September 2026 that the profile was suspended. We have no current Trustpilot score, so the score here comes from Prop Firm Match alone.

### What traders like

- **Payouts that arrive.** Many reviewers on Trustpilot and Prop Firm Match say they have taken several payouts without trouble.
- **Fast, personal support.** Support staff get named and praised often for quick, detailed answers, even on complicated questions.
- **Broker backing.** Several traders say the link to a regulated broker is the reason they trust it.
- **Trading from TradingView.** Early Reddit posts like being able to trade straight from TradingView charts.

### Common complaints

- **Breaches around news.** A repeated complaint is accounts breached because a stop or target filled during a restricted news window, even when the order was placed well before.
- **Payouts denied for hedging or risk.** Several reviewers say payouts were refused over group hedging rules, or that trades over about 2% risk were flagged as gambling.
- **Program changes.** One reviewer says a withdrawal was refused and the account closed when a two-step program was discontinued.
- **Slow steps for some.** A few traders say identity checks and payouts each took about a week.

### Recently

- **July to September 2026:** a review site put the Trustpilot score at 3.9 from about 630 reviews in July. By September another reported the Trustpilot profile as suspended while review authenticity is checked, and Trustpilot shows a notice that fake reviews were removed.
